Innovators in Applied Learning Award

Receive a $4,000 entrance award toward your studies at Confederation College!

Are you a new international student who has created an innovative project, participated in a competition, developed a startup, completed a capstone, or designed a practical solution to a real-world problem?
The Innovators in Applied Learning Award recognizes international students who demonstrate creativity, technical skill, and problem-solving through hands-on learning.
This award is particularly suited to applicants entering programs in engineering technology, information technology, health, skilled trades, or other applied fields.
You could be selected to receive a one-time $4,000 award toward your first program at Confederation College.

AWARD GUIDELINES
Applicants must be new international students entering their first program at Confederation College.
Applicants must provide evidence of a project, competition, startup, capstone, invention, or other applied-learning activity completed within the 24 months before the application deadline.
Recipients will be selected based on the following criteria:
• Portfolio quality: 60 points
• Problem-solving brief: 30 points
• Academic achievement: 10 points
Applicants must submit a portfolio of three to five pages and a problem-and-solution brief of no more than 400 words.
The portfolio should clearly explain the applicant’s role in the project and may include photographs, diagrams, designs, screenshots, results, links, or other relevant evidence.
The problem-and-solution brief should describe the problem addressed, the approach taken, the challenges encountered, and the outcome of the project.
This award is non-renewable and cannot be combined with another institutional entrance award from Confederation College.
